Dear Ms. Holme,
I left a comment asking you to check out my blog where I had reviewed in great detail The Casual Vacancy, a book by J.K. Rowling. You left a comment in response, both on your blog and on mine. In return and in order to express my gratitude, I would like to purchase your autobiographical novel Lesbian Crushes and Bulimia: A Diary on How I Acquired My Eating Disorder. However, it does not appear to be available as a physical book. Is there any way I could purchase a physical copy? If you can print one, I will purchase copies for all my family and friends.
Hi Kirk, thank you so much for your interest in my book. I am currently halfway through the first edit of the ‘prequel’: Lesbian Crushes at School: A Diary on Growing up Gay in the Eighties.
Once this second book is ready, I shall be making both available as print books as well as ebooks. I have already recreated the book covers.
I can let you know once ‘Lesbian Crushes and Bulimia’ is available in print. Or to be notified about new book releases, you can enter your email address into the pink bar at the top of my website.
Many thanks again,
Natasha
I’m currently locked out of my e-mail account, so I’m going to form a new one and then I’ll enter it up there.
All right, my new e-mail address is up there so no need to “let (me) know” when it is in print, however you were planning to do that. Thank you.
Grand :-)
Hi,
I have just read your book. Twice. It’s an amazing insight into your life, and that is the sign of a truly astonishing writer. Whether or not, at the time, you intended these diaries to me made public, the very flow of the prose is hugely indicative of your linguistic talent. Well done and I will follow your career with interest!

Hi Vic,
Thank you so much for your wonderful words of encouragement. Yes, I did fantasise that my diaries would be made public, even as far back as 1989. And I fantasised that ‘Alex’ would read them too. They *are* edited, however. It was a huge task to restructure, remove repetitive and redundant information, ensure the flow of the story, etc.
I’ll be publishing the ‘prequel’ this summer. Have just launched a new ‘diary series’ website here: http://www.lesbiancrushdiaries.com. I haven’t announced it yet. You might be the first to see it :-)

Natasha,
Thank you for your reply and your tweet #nowimblushing
Your new book looks fantastic and I look forward to it filling some gapes and painting a scene! I am sure as soon as I’ve read the prequel, I’ll reread the original and I’ll love it in a completely different way!
Good luck with the launch and I hope it will be available in print?
Vx
Sweet, Vic, *thank you.* Are diaries/memoirs a favourite genre of yours?
Still working on the prequel (nearly there). Aiming for “fantastic” ;-)
Yes indeed, when I publish the prequel, both books will then be available in print. I’m excited about owning them in print myself. …

Hi,
Absolutely a favourite genre! Fact and Fiction!
All started with Adrian Mole :-)
It’s something about reading day by day. You feel that you are privy to something very precious. When an entry is written, the writer has no idea what will happen the next! I also love My Mad Fat Diaries. You can immerse in a diary and I like that!
Vx
Oooh, *loved* My Mad Fat Diary, volumes I and II (my reviews here and here).
And it’s good fun reading your own diary back so many years later that you can’t remember what happened next :-)
Do you keep a diary, Vic?
N.x
Spot on reviews in my opinion :-)
I have never kept a diary. I wish I had and do. Unfortunately my emotional management consists of ‘if I don’t think about it, it won’t bother me!’ So the thought of something that holds me to account terrifies me!
Do you think you will carry on publishing your diaries?
Vx
‘If I don’t think about it, it won’t bother me’ is stellar mind management. Ancient wisdom :-)
Well, I’m committed to the three diaries at http://www.lesbiancrushdiaries.com. The first one is nearly finished. The last one I have in draft already. I have no idea whether I will carry on after those. It will depend on demand. …

I demand it already :-)
Another mind management technique is ‘if you think so much about other peoples struggles, you won’t think of your own!’
I should write self help…

“I demand it already :-)”
Note taken. xx

Let me know when it’s out :-)
